The versatile storage jar from Eulenschnitt: lasagna for every occasion!

Today we would like to show you how versatile the storage jar from Eulenschnitt can be. With this practical kitchen utensil, you can not only store food, but also conjure up delicious dishes. We have come up with a delicious lasagna for you that is perfect for storage and freezing.

  • 500g minced meat
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 400g sieved tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (or fresh basil)
  • 200g lasagna sheets
  • 250g mozzarella, grated
  • 100g grated Parmesan cheese

For the béchamel sauce:
  • 60g butter
  • 50g of flour
  • 500ml of milk
  • salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste

  1. In a frying pan, sauté the minced meat along with the onion and garlic until browned.
  2. Add the strained tomatoes and tomato paste and stir well. Season with salt, pepper and the Italian herbs. Simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes (or longer depending on the time you have available).
  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  4. In the storage tin of owl cut, spread a layer of the minced meat and tomato sauce, followed by a layer of lasagna sheets. Repeat this process until all the ingredients are used up.
  5. For the béchamel sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour and mix well until smooth. Gradually add the milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumping. Bring the sauce to a boil and thicken over low heat, stirring constantly. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  6. Pour a layer of béchamel sauce over the last layer of lasagna sheets in the storage tin. Sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan.
  7. Cover the lasagna (with aluminum foil) and bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown and deliciously fragrant.

Of course, you can also prepare a vegetarian version and freeze the excess sauce leftover. A lasagna in stock is always helpful, so the pan with lid can also be frozen perfectly. Give it a try! We hope that we were able to inspire you and wish you happy imitation!
