Majas Cottage

Majas Cottage Logo Maja's Cottage is a Swedish family interior design company with a focus on coziness and inspiration for all the senses. The founding couple Petra and Pierre Jonsson want to convey a warm feeling of joy and coziness with their products.
A big focus of Maja's Cottage is the fight against childhood cancer. The name of the company comes from the daughter Maja of the founding couple. When Maja was born, worries suddenly surfaced that something might happen to her. Petra and Pierre Jonsson then thought they wanted to help so that if Maja ever suffered from a serious illness like cancer, they would at least have done their best to help research to solve the mystery of childhood cancer.
With Petra's experience in product development and purchasing in the home furnishings industry, the idea of Maja's Lanterns was born - lanterns that touch. That they would put extra heart and soul into the company was a given, and supporting the Children's Cancer Foundation with their products was something they were eager to do. Buying beautiful furnishings and knowing that at the same time they symbolize that you have done something good - that is the best feeling for Petra and Pierre Jonsson and a win-win for everyone.
In 2012, they started the business at home in their basement and began selling their first Maja lantern, a lantern with empowering words designed to bring light, joy, comfort and hope in the fight against cancer, especially childhood cancer. Each lantern was sold to benefit the Children's Cancer Foundation.
10% of the retailers' purchase price will go to the Children's Cancer Foundation or to charity. The donations are handled by Maja's Cottage. Thus, you also help with the purchase of a Maja's Cottage product.
